COVID-19 has made so many beautiful couples change their wedding plans over and over again, and I can attest to this. My husband and I eloped last December at a Airbnb in Muskoka (first cottage listed under Airbnb listings) because of the COVID-19 restrictions and lockdown; we could only have ten guests... we had a beautiful, stress-free day!
The COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns has lead many couples altering their wedding plans...please know if you decided to elope you can still have the big wedding/reception at a later date, if you choose to do so. This is about YOU!
Elopements are so much fun and can be much more intimate than the traditional big wedding. Eloping will allow you to slow down and take in all the beautiful little details that might be otherwise overlooked at bigger weddings. Many brides feel stressed, and you and your partner deserve to have a beautiful, stress-free wedding to enjoy. Slowing down and soaking in all the moments with your partner will create such a more memorable wedding experience. Many couples don't get to slow down and enjoy these fine details or focus on themselves because they are on strict timelines or have multiple guests to interact with.

Locations to Elope
Algonquin Park has plenty to offer in its vast interior of rocky ridges, hills, 7,635 square kms of forests, 1,500 lakes and rivers! You can explore this park on foot or by paddle! Arrowhead park has incredible lookouts, beautiful paths through the woods. Three sandy beaches, 15 km of hiking trails, waterfall (Stubb's Falls), canoe rentals, snowshoeing, large, treed and private campsites. Please visit their website to get their operating dates, updates and fees.

This 1.5 km hiking and walking loop is located in North Bay. This beautiful forest is has white and red pine tress. This small but beautiful forest would be perfect for an intimate wedding ceremony. Please visit website to view directions and information.

Backyard and cottage weddings are lovely and so intimate! Such a relaxed and sentimental feeling, while taking advantage of not paying for a venue fee, etc.

Surrounded by a beautiful private property, which includes private access beach, and cozy indoors for those romantic winter elopements by the indoor gas fireplace. Enjoy the double height ceilings and treetop views in the bedroom. Soak and relax in the clawfoot tub/shower. There's plenty of wooded forest to explore and take beautiful pictures, as well as a backyard fire pit for some cozy photos. This cottage would make for a romantic and relaxing elopement!
